start with
a day in
Split
, a bustling city of old
squares, outdoor cafes, shops and stalls set atop
the remains of the summer palace built around 293 AD by
the Roman Emperor Dioclecian. SPLIT
is the second largest city in Croatia, a city with a 1700 year old
tradition, a variety of
archeological, historical and cultural monuments among which
the well-known
Palace of
Diocletian
, entered into
the UNESCO World Heritage certainly gives the historical
significance of the city. Few cities can
offer such variety of entertainment and excursions in their closest
surroundings as Split.
Day
3 -6 (Wed-Sat) 1 hour
catamaran will take you to the island of Hvar, where you will enjoy
3 days in its astonishing beauty, exploring one of the best
preserved medieval towns in the region. Town of HVAR is of unique cultural
and historical heritage with an old tradition in tourism.
Island
of
Hvar
is
famous for its very specific climate with a lot of sunshine
and very few rainy days. It has an
outstanding historical heritage - the cathedral, the Franciscan
Monastery, the Hvar theatre (one of the oldest in
Europe - from 1612) and the fortress
offering spectacular view to the surrounding
islands.
Day
6-9 (Sat-Tue) Ferry from
Starigrad (Hvar) will take you to
Dubrovnik
. You will spend 3 days in
the "Pearl of Adriatic exploring the
Old
Town
of white
limestone buildings, terra-cotta roofs, cobbled streets and marble
squares, numerous restaurants and cafés. A stroll from one city gate
to another will be a stroll from the Romanesque and Gothic to the
high Renaissance and Baroque. The ancient walled city of
DUBROVNIK
dates from the
seventh century. The city
is surrounded by 2 kilometers of walls built between 11th and
17th century. It is a priceless gem of
World Cultural Heritage enclosed within thick medieval walls and
fortresses radiating with eternal and
astonishing beauty.
